2005THE FIRST ADIDAS FLORA HALF MARATHON
At the turn of the year entries were heading toward the 3,000 mark for the first adidas Flora half Marathon. This new event, now delivered by the London Marathon Company has replaced the 2004 L1310K event which was staged in October.
With a new date of March 13th, the half marathon now falls a month or so before the London Marathon making it an ideal warm up race for the big event. (The 10K aspect of the L1310K event will remain in early October with a new course soon to be announced).
The new half marathon sponsered by mizuno clubs will start and finish in Sefton Park taking in the city centre along the way. All finishers will receive a superb quality commemorative medal and t-shirt.
Entries can be taken online via www.london-marathon.co.uk.
IMPORTANT NOTE; CLOSING DATE FOR ENTRIES IS MONDAY 14TH FEBRUARY.

2004THE FIRST LIVERPOOL SANTA DASH - DIDN'T WE ALL HAVE A MERRY CHRISTMAS??
More than 2,000 fun runners, joggers and sports enthusiasts took part in the first Liverpool Santa Dash - all helping to make both the day and the event a tremendous success.
In addition nearly £30,000 has been raised so far for the Liverpool Daily Post and Echo Sunrise Fund which this year is supporting the Marina Dalglish Appeal. Kenny Dalglish himself also took part to lend his weight to the cause.
The three mile two lap course in the city centre proved very popular to the point were many of the participants are already asking about the 2005 event!! Plans are already underway to prepare a serious attempt at the World Record for the biggest number of running Santas in one race - which currently stands at just over 4,000.
So, watch this this space for further information and don't forget to visit the Santa Gallery to see how much everyone enjoyed the day. Look forward to seeing you later in the year.
